People in the West Midlands are encouraged to realise their full potential by accessing free vocational training programmes with Skills Training UK. The national independent training provider, which has Training Centres across the West Midlands, is attending the Walsall Works EXPO on 24th March where the team look forward to meeting people of all ages who are ready to learn new skills and progress in their careers or education.
The Walsall Works EXPO is the Black Country’s largest careers fair with over 60 employers and training providers gathering together to showcase job opportunities and training courses across a wide range of sectors, from construction and engineering to customer service and digital technology.
Skills Training UK’s friendly staff will be on-hand to discuss their free programmes which are offered at Training Centres in Walsall, Dudley and West Bromwich, and Academies in Wolverhampton and Birmingham, as well as other locations across the country. The team deliver training for all ages and abilities, including BTEC courses for 16-18-year-old school leavers, vocational Traineeships for 16-24s, Apprenticeships up to degree level, and short accredited courses for adults aged 19+ who are currently unemployed or are looking to progress in their current job role.
Lesley Turner, Manager at Skills Training UK’s Walsall Centre, said: “We look forward to meeting new faces at the Walsall Works EXPO and introducing our range of training programmes to help local people realise their career potential. Vocational training is a practical route into a new job, further education or to improve your skills, so it’s important that people know their options and how to access quality training here in the West Midlands.”
Jade Sandher is a former Traineeship learner at the Wolverhampton Academy, and she is now enjoying an Apprenticeship in Business Admin with Skills Training UK.
Speaking about her training experience, Jade said: “I didn’t know what to do or where my life was heading before I started with Skills Training UK. The Academy was so different to college, the classes are a lot smaller and I was treated like an adult with responsibility for my own success. Now, in my new role as Administrator, I’m helping other young people to enrol on to courses and find their own career paths.” The EXPO is hosted at Walsall College Hub on Littleton Street West, and it is open to all ages from 9am to 4pm.
