Skills Training UK take Health and Science Category win at FE Week and AELP AAC Awards 2021

The FE Week and AELP AAC Apprenticeship Awards has named Skills Training UK as winners of the Health and Science Apprenticeship Provider of the Year 2021. The announcement was made at the awards ceremony in Birmingham yesterday evening on Thursday 8th July, and the night was a great success, with multiple categories of industry achievements being celebrated.

The Further Education (FE) Week and Association of Employment and Learning providers (AELP) AAC Apprenticeship awards are a celebration of excellence in apprenticeship delivery in the UK and provide an opportunity to give deserved recognition to employers and training providers.
The Skills Training UK win was in recognition of its offering of tailored apprenticeship programmes for NHS Trusts, which has only grown since 2017 and the Apprenticeship Levy introduction. Their offer of custom-designed apprenticeship delivery unique to each NHS Trust was not hindered by the restrictions of the pandemic due to their virtual learning platform, webinars and fully remote delivery offered throughout 2020. Apprentices have achieved their diplomas with as much success throughout the pandemic as if they had completed the course in centres, with 1-2-1 remote support made readily available from subject experts.

Martin Dunford OBE, Chief Executive, Skills Training UK, said: “The Health and Science Apprenticeship Provider of the Year 2021 award is a great honour to receive at such a prestigious industry event, and with such worthy competition among the nominees in our category. The resilient team behind our remote delivery efforts, as well as everyone involved with bespoke design and delivery of apprenticeships training for our partner NHS Trusts, have had their year of hard work recognised, and I am extremely proud of everyone at Skills Training UK.

“The UK has been immensely fortunate to have had the outstanding efforts of the NHS to rely upon during such a serious health crisis over the past year, and with our flexible, Covid-safe delivery of NHS apprenticeships, we are pleased that we were able to support apprentice healthcare workers and give back in a way which was practical to them.”

2020 also saw additional steps forward for Skills Training UK in the field of being a celebrated Health and Science Apprenticeship Provider in the UK, as they became an NHS Partner of Choice nationally and in London for several standards. Their launch of exciting new Clinical Coder Apprenticeships remain unique to them as a UK apprenticeship provider.
