Success Story
21-year-old Electra Jones and 20-year-old Jade Sandher both completed Business Admin Traineeships before starting Apprenticeships at Skills Training UK.
Electra had previously worked part-time in a private tutoring role, but she was ready for a career change when she heard about Skills Training UK’s Fast-Track Traineeship programme on social media. Electra applied for the programme and after a short period, began a Business Administration Apprenticeship as part of the team at Skills Training UK’s Wolverhampton Academy.
Electra said: “I found the course really worthwhile. I achieved Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Business Admin as well as Personal Development & Employability and ICT, before quickly finding a paid Apprenticeship role. The tutors at Skills Training UK are very student-orientated, they really want the best for every learner and that’s how I felt when I was put forward for lots of job interviews. I’m pleased I found this role through Skills Training UK and I’m really enjoying my new career.”
Jade was also looking for a fresh start after achieving qualifications at college and enjoying a job at a nursery. When her contract ended, Jade lost her motivation to find work until she saw the opportunity for a Fast-Track Traineeship with Skills Training UK. Jade was supported to achieve her Functional Skills qualification in Maths as well as Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications in Business Admin, which led her to secure an Apprenticeship at Skills Training UK’s Birmingham Centre.
Jade said: “I didn’t know what to do or where my life was heading before I started with Skills Training UK. The Academy was so different to college, the classes are a lot smaller and I was treated like an adult with responsibility for my own success. Now, in my new role as Administrator, I’m helping other young people to enrol on to courses and find their own career paths.”
The tutors really want the best for every learner and that’s how I felt when I was put forward for lots of job interviews. I’m pleased I found this role through Skills Training UK and I’m really enjoying my new career.
