Coaching professionals engage with and empower a wide range of individuals and teams in every sector to improve their professional performance.

There is growing demand for the professionalisation of coaching to be embedded in company culture and governance to help provide one-to-one, team, leadership, and skills coaching.

Coaching is a way of leading in a non-directive manner, helping people to improve their self-belief, to be curious and self-aware, to be better equipped to adapt to change.

Typical Job Roles: Business Coach, Career Coach, Coach, Coaching Practitioner, Coaching Professional, Leadership Coach, Performance Coach, Systemic Coach, Team Coach, Wellbeing Coach.

What does an employer need to do?
  • Provide the learner with the opportunity to take part in work and projects which to produce a substantial portfolio of evidence required for Apprenticeship assessment and completion.
  • Take part in progress reviews at regular intervals.
  • Have some involvement in the project(s) being undertaken.
  • Allow the apprentice an agreed amount of classroom time.

Eligibility criteria

Apprentices without level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the End Point Assessment.

Qualifications and professional recognition

This standard aligns with the following professional recognitions:

  • European Mentoring and Coaching Council for Accredited Coaching Practitioner
  • The Association for Coaching for Accredited Coach
  • The International Coach Federation for Associate Certified Coach

End Point Assessment

To successfully complete the apprenticeship, the learner needs to pass an independent End Point Assessment which consists of three distinct assessment methods:
